...that I worried about when I retired.
I complain about being busy, about not having down-time or enough time with Duane or time for this or that. But the truth is I don't want down-time and I love being busy and one reason Duane and I enjoy being together is that we're not necessarily breathing the same air all the time even though we're always within cellphone or intercom reach.
And today I'm not busy. I have no appointments, no one to meet for lunch, no shift at the hospital. I could (and should) go to the gym, but I need some days away from that. I could (and should) bake for Christmas or run the vacuum cleaner or dust or finish wrapping presents.
I am never bored and can't imagine being bored, but it is days like this I am afraid it will happen.
Do you have any of those?
On a brighter note...
The Gingerbread Heart is available in print! I am so happy to see it. I'm still waiting to receive my copies. The whole A Heartwarming Christmas experience has been one of the best I've ever had. I hope you've enjoyed the reading.
If you missed Wedding at Turkey Run, it's still available on Wattpad (which is a whole new thing for me).
For now, I'm wishing you a merry, merry Christmas!

Baby Jesus was found. I saw it on Facebook, and an ache I didn't even realize I had was relieved. It wasn't a real baby, of course,...

About the rainbow. From a Christian point of view. That is...from this Christian's point of view. Just like non-Christians, we don't...
I'm not having any down days lately so I love the concept of being bored--for a minute or two. :-) So glad to find you here! I'll be checking back at your window! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anna!
DeleteI was bored Monday, while I waited for the endocrinologist to come do my ultrasound. Yeah, that lasted a whole minute or maybe two, until the voices in my head started up. You're a writer; you know the ones. "I do NOT chew my nails," says minor character 1 (yes she does). MMC: "When do I get the girl?" (Not yet. Woo her.) FMC: "Wish he would woo me." (Me too.) When the doc came in, I asked her if she knew any helicopter pilots because I need to interview one. She said she'd check my meds...
ReplyDeleteLol. I love it! But it beats boredom by a mile, doesn't it?
DeleteI totally have days like that. I'm between edits right now and I think I'll go out with Husband and run some errands and maybe go by the Garfield Park Conservatory and see their Christmas trees...something completely out of our box. Enjoy your day, mon amie and see you soon!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to it!
DeleteWe all have so many "shoulds" in our lives. Should clean, should work out, should do whatever. Yet it is so nice to have a day with nothing. Enjoy your down time and maybe something totally unexpected will happen that will make your day joyous.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, Carolyn, and it's been a fun one. This afternoon, the boyfriend and I are having a date, too. :-)
DeleteIf you do get bored (which I am sure you won't), just come to our house!
ReplyDelete:-)
